    GlossaryGamma Delta T Cells

unique immune cells with distinct receptors for rapid pathogen response

Gamma Delta T Cells (γδ T cells) are a unique subset of T lymphocytes that play a crucial role in the immune system. Unlike the more common alpha-beta T cells, γδ T cells have a distinct T-cell receptor (TCR) composed of one gamma chain and one delta chain. They are involved in both innate and adaptive immunity, providing rapid responses to a wide range of pathogens and participating in tissue repair and homeostasis.
