    Glossary Endocrine Disruption

interference with hormone function by certain chemicals

Endocrine disruption refers to the interference with the normal functioning of the endocrine system by certain chemicals, known as endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). These substances can mimic, block, or alter hormone signals, leading to a variety of health issues such as reproductive problems, developmental disorders, and even certain cancers. EDCs are found in many everyday products, including plastics, pesticides, and personal care items.
