Lipocalin-2 (LCN2), also known as Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL), is a protein involved in the body's immune response and iron metabolism. It helps to sequester iron, limiting bacterial growth during infections, and is also used as a biomarker for kidney injury and other inflammatory conditions.
