September 2018 in “Central Asian journal of medical sciences (Print)” This study found that Urticadioica L ethanol extracts enhanced hair growth and reduced catagen transition in human hair follicles in an ex vivo organ culture model.
January 2006 in “The Journal of Korean Medicine Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology and Dermatology” This study found that Rubus coreanum extract promotes hair growth in mice, but its effects are not due to inhibition of specific enzymatic activities or growth factor expression.
In this study, six-week-old male mice showed significantly increased hair regrowth rates and higher expression of hair growth-related factors when treated for 22 days with Lactobacillus strains and fermented Korean berry, suggesting these could be potential promoters of hair growth via gut microbiome regulation.

June 2011 in “Journal of Biomedical Research” This study suggests that a herbal extract from Gardenia, Mentha arvensis, Rosemary, and Lavender may promote hair growth in mice at a rate comparable to minoxidil.
January 2020 in “Open University of Cape Town (University of Cape Town)” In this study, neonatal mouse mesenchymal cells showed hair-inducing capabilities, which were lost during in vitro propagation but could be partially restored through specific high-density culture methods.
