Glossary Follicle-Stimulating Hormone

hormone that regulates reproductive processes in both sexes

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a crucial hormone produced by the pituitary gland that plays a key role in reproductive health. In women, FSH stimulates the growth of ovarian follicles, which are essential for egg development and estrogen production. In men, it promotes the production of sperm by acting on the Sertoli cells in the testes.
