    Eosinophils, also known as eosinophilic granulocytes, are a type of white blood cell that play a crucial role in the body's immune response, particularly in combating parasitic infections and in allergic reactions. They contain granules filled with enzymes and proteins that can be released to fight off pathogens, but their overactivity can also contribute to inflammatory conditions such as asthma and eczema.
