    GlossarySkin Cysts (Dermal cysts)

non-cancerous, fluid-filled sacs forming under the skin

Skin cysts, also known as cutaneous cysts or dermal cysts, are non-cancerous, closed pockets of tissue that can be filled with fluid, pus, or other material. They often form as a result of infection, clogged sebaceous glands, or around foreign bodies, and can appear anywhere on the skin. While generally harmless, they can sometimes become painful or infected, necessitating medical evaluation and potential removal.
