research MSCs: Scientific Support for Multiple Therapies
Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) are promising for multiple therapies, but more research is needed to fully understand and optimize their use.
research EVALUATION OF THE ROLE OF CXCL12 IN CASES OF ALOPECIA AREATA
This study explores the dual role of CXCL12 in alopecia areata (AA), an immune-mediated disorder causing nonscarring hair loss. CXCL12 is involved in angiogenesis by attracting endothelial progenitor cells, and decreased levels may impair vascular support to hair follicles, contributing to hair loss. Conversely, CXCL12 is also implicated in autoimmune mechanisms, where its overexpression recruits γδ T cells to stressed hair follicles, exacerbating the autoimmune attack and leading to hair loss. The study highlights the complex role of CXCL12 in the pathogenesis of AA.
research Loss of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Human Alopecia Hair Follicles
Hair follicles in people with alopecia have lower levels of a key blood vessel growth protein.
research Androgen Receptor–Mediated Paracrine Signaling Induces Regression of Blood Vessels in the Dermal Papilla in Androgenetic Alopecia
Male pattern baldness is linked to higher levels of a certain receptor in the scalp, which leads to the shrinking of blood vessels and hair loss. Early treatment targeting this receptor could be more effective.
research The Role of Adipocytes in Tissue Regeneration and Stem Cell Niches
Fat cells are important for tissue repair and stem cell support in various body parts.

The post discusses a theory that hair regrowth after transplant is due to the angiogenesis process (new blood vessels forming), not because the transplanted hair is unaffected by DHT. The responses highlight the established belief in 'donor dominance' (the importance of the hair's origin in transplantation) and skepticism about the new theory.
community A new study by Deng and colleagues set out to explore differences between balding and non balding scalps...
Balding scalps have more androgen receptors, leading to increased TGF-beta, which causes blood vessel loss and hair follicle miniaturization. Blocking androgen signaling and TGF-beta may help prevent hair loss.
community Is microneedling supposed to be a blood bath? 1mm dermastamp
The conversation is about someone experiencing a lot of bleeding from using a 1.0mm microneedling device for hair loss treatment and asking if it's normal. Various users suggest that the bleeding is excessive and recommend using shorter needles or less pressure, while others share their own microneedling practices with different needle lengths and no bleeding.
community Could low blood flow to the head cause an increased rate of thinning?
The user started using finasteride, minoxidil, and biotin for male pattern baldness (MPB) and is experiencing rapid thinning. They are questioning if low blood flow to the head could be contributing to their hair loss.
community Why don't Minoxidil regenerated hairs become terminal on the head?
Minoxidil helps hair growth by increasing blood flow and prolonging the growth phase, but it doesn't address the root cause of hair loss, such as DHT sensitivity. Finasteride can help maintain some gains by blocking DHT, but stopping Minoxidil often leads to hair loss because the new hairs are dependent on it.
