TLDR The term "porokeratotic adnexal ostial nevus" is proposed to unify overlapping skin conditions involving eccrine and hair follicles.
Porokeratotic eccrine ostial and dermal duct nevus and porokeratotic eccrine and hair follicle nevus were rare keratinization disorders involving eccrine and hair follicles. In a study of 5 patients, widespread skin involvement along Blaschko's lines was observed. Initial manifestations included erosions in newborns, with one case of unilateral breast hypoplasia and another of malignant transformation to multifocal squamous cell carcinomas. Histologic analysis showed involvement of both acrosyringia and acrotrichia in 3 patients. The study proposed the unified term "porokeratotic adnexal ostial nevus" to encompass these overlapping conditions.
