TLDR Wedelolactone may help treat chronic diseases due to its strong antioxidant properties.
Wedelolactone (WDL), a bioactive compound from Eclipta prostrata, exhibits significant potential in promoting health by combating chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, cancer, diabetes, liver disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and androgenetic alopecia. This review compiles experimental data from various scientific databases, highlighting WDL's role as a potent antioxidant and a selective modulator of proteins linked to these conditions. The findings suggest that further research into WDL's pharmacological effects is warranted due to its promising therapeutic potential.
