    The study developed a precise High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) method for quantifying wedelolactone in Eclipta alba, a plant known for its hair growth-promoting properties. The method was validated for precision, accuracy, and sensitivity, with a detection limit of 40 ng per spot and a quantitation limit of 100 ng per spot. It demonstrated excellent accuracy and recovery, with accuracy values between 99.77% and 100.27%. The study also compared supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and the Soxhlet method, finding SFE to be more efficient, with a higher yield of wedelolactone (0.88% vs. 0.79%) and significantly reduced extraction time. The study concluded that SFE is a superior extraction technique and that the HPTLC method is suitable for analyzing wedelolactone in E. alba.
