TLDR Vitamin D3 deficiency is common in Pakistanis with diffuse hair fall, and early treatment is advised.
The study "Filling the Gaps: Vitamin D Status in Diffuse Hair Fall Among Pakistanis" investigated the prevalence of vitamin D3 deficiency in 120 Pakistani patients experiencing diffuse hair fall. The participants, predominantly female (103 out of 120), had a mean age of 28.56 years. Results showed that 79.17% of these patients had vitamin D3 deficiency, with varying types of hair loss including female and male pattern hair loss, diffuse alopecia areata, and telogen effluvium. The study concluded that there is a significant frequency of vitamin D3 deficiency in individuals with diffuse hair fall, recommending early recognition and treatment to mitigate hair loss.
