TLDR Dupilumab effectively improves skin conditions, reduces symptoms, and enhances quality of life in certain dermatological issues.
This systematic review analyzed nine placebo-controlled trials with 6,797 participants to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dupilumab in dermatological conditions such as atopic dermatitis (AD), prurigo nodularis, and alopecia areata. Dupilumab significantly improved clinical severity, patient-reported outcomes (PROs), anxiety/depression symptoms, and health-related quality of life in moderate-to-severe AD. In prurigo nodularis, it reduced pruritus and nodules, while in alopecia areata, it showed promising results in hair regrowth, especially in patients with high baseline IgE levels. The 300 mg dose regimens notably enhanced PROs like itch, sleep, and mental health. The review supports dupilumab as a valuable therapeutic option, highlighting the need for further research to optimize dosing and explore its efficacy in other conditions.
