TLDR Dupilumab can improve both atopic dermatitis and alopecia universalis.
A case report from December 2021 highlights the use of dupilumab, an interleukin-4 receptor alpha antagonist, in treating a patient with atopic dermatitis (AD) and underlying alopecia universalis. Dupilumab, known for its effectiveness in improving AD, has also been associated with significant resolution of various forms of alopecia, including alopecia areata, alopecia universalis, and alopecia totalis. This particular case adds to the growing body of evidence supporting dupilumab's potential benefits for patients suffering from both AD and alopecia universalis.
