TLDR Most minoxidil products on Amazon don't provide safety or side effect information.
The study analyzed the advertising strategies for over-the-counter (OTC) minoxidil products on Amazon and found significant shortcomings in how these products are marketed. Out of nine products identified through a Google Boolean Search, eight were analyzed on Amazon for safety information and adverse effects profiles. The results showed that only 25% (2 out of 8) of the products provided safety information, and none (0%) mentioned any adverse effects. The study concluded that there is a need for increased transparency in the marketing of OTC minoxidil products, with companies required to offer clear information about safety and potential adverse effects to help consumers make informed decisions and to build trust in the industry.
