Effects of Tremella Fuciformis Berk on Hair Follicles and Hair Growth in Stressed Mice

The study investigated the effects of stress and Tremella fuciformis Berk (Tf AE) on hair follicles and hair growth in mice. Mice were subjected to stress at an age equivalent to humans in their 20s and then observed until an age equivalent to humans in their 60s. Results showed that stress significantly reduced the density and size of hair follicles, as well as the length and thickness of hairs. However, the intake of Tf AE during stress significantly inhibited these negative effects, protecting the hair follicles and hair growth into older age. The study concluded that stress experienced at a young age had long-term negative effects on hair, but Tf AE intake provided a protective effect against these changes.
