Hair Growth Effects of Wheat Sprout Ethanol Extract on C57BL/6 Mice

The study evaluated the effects of wheat sprout extract on hair growth in female C57BL/6 mice. Wheat sprout extract, rich in chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes, was applied to the mice's skin after hair removal. The results showed that wheat sprout extract (fraction 5) promoted hair growth similarly to the positive control, minoxidil (3%), while fraction 8 was less effective. Histological analysis revealed more hair follicles and smaller mast cells in the skin treated with wheat sprout extract (fraction 5). The findings suggested that wheat sprout extract could be a potential ingredient in hair growth products.
