TLDR Betamethasone valerate lotion is more effective for treating multiple patchy alopecia areata.
The study compared the efficacy of topical 15% lactic acid solution and topical betamethasone valerate lotion in treating multiple patchy alopecia areata. Fifty patients were divided into two groups of 25 each, with one group using lactic acid and the other using betamethasone valerate for 12 weeks. The results indicated that betamethasone valerate lotion was more effective in managing multiple patchy alopecia areata. The study suggests that future research with larger sample sizes, longer follow-up periods, and side effect evaluations could provide more comprehensive insights.
