TLDR Nano-phytopharmaceuticals show promise but need more research for safe, effective use in treating certain disorders.
The review explored the potential of nano-phytopharmaceuticals, derived from plant extracts, in treating skin, urogenital, and locomotor disorders. It emphasized the role of nanotechnology in enhancing the efficacy, bioavailability, and target specificity of herbal medicines. Despite promising preclinical and in vitro results, there was a significant lack of clinical studies, limiting strong evidence for their efficacy and safety in humans. The review highlighted various formulations, such as liposomes and nanoparticles, which improved the delivery and stability of therapeutic agents for conditions like acne, psoriasis, alopecia, and erectile dysfunction. However, most findings were from short-term studies, and further research was needed to validate their clinical use, focusing on pharmacokinetics and long-term toxicity.
