TLDR A-PRF reduces pain and complications after wisdom tooth removal.
The study conducted on 100 patients at the Medical University of Gdańsk assessed the impact of Advanced Platelet-Rich Fibrin (A-PRF) on postoperative complications following mandibular third molar odontectomy. Patients were divided into two groups: 50 received A-PRF socket filling, while 50 did not. Results indicated that A-PRF significantly reduced pain intensity, analgesics intake, trismus, edema, and the presence of hematomas and skin warmth on the 3rd and 7th days post-surgery (p < 0.05). The study concluded that A-PRF was more effective in reducing postoperative complications than factors like tooth position or procedure duration.

Scalp biopsies are crucial for diagnosing hair loss conditions like Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) and retrograde hair loss, as treatments like finasteride and dutasteride may not be effective if other conditions are present. Combining PPAR-GAMMA agonists with retinoids could improve treatments for conditions like Lichen Planopilaris.
