TLDR Taohong Siwu Decoction may help treat deep vein thrombosis by reducing inflammation.
This study investigates the mechanism of Taohong Siwu Decoction (THSWD) against deep vein thrombosis (DVT) using network pharmacology and molecular docking. Researchers identified 56 potential targets and 61 effective components, with beta-sitosterol, quercetin, and kaempferol being the most prominent. The protein-protein interaction network highlighted IL6, IL1B, and AKT1 as key targets. Gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses suggested that THSWD may affect DVT through pathways related to lipid and atherosclerosis, cancer, and the PI3K-Akt pathway. Molecular docking confirmed strong binding affinities between the active compounds and target proteins, indicating that these compounds may mitigate DVT progression by modulating the inflammatory response via the PI3K/Akt pathway.
