TLDR TQC shows promise for better hair regrowth in treating hair loss.
The study explores the use of Tetrahedral Framework Nucleic Acids (tFNAs) combined with quercetin (TQC) as a novel treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). TQC enhances quercetin's bioavailability and stability, effectively targeting hair follicle stem cells and dermal papilla cells, which are essential for hair growth. In mouse models, TQC demonstrated superior hair regrowth compared to minoxidil and quercetin alone, with near-complete regrowth by day 28. TQC treatment normalized DHT-induced gene expression, activated the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, and improved the hair follicle microenvironment. The study suggests TQC as a promising therapeutic strategy for AGA, though further research is needed to fully understand its long-term efficacy.
