TLDR VYC-12L effectively improves skin smoothness, reduces fine lines, and boosts hydration.
The study assessed the safety and effectiveness of VYC-12L, a hyaluronic acid filler, for skin quality improvement in 209 participants across 14 US sites. The VYC-12L group showed significant improvements in skin smoothness and fine lines, with responder rates of 57.9% and 58.3% at month 1, compared to 4.5% and 5.4% in the delayed treatment control group. These benefits were maintained through month 6, and skin hydration also increased significantly. Injection site reactions were common but mostly mild or moderate, resolving within 7 days. The study concluded that VYC-12L is effective and safe for enhancing skin quality, though it noted the need for more diverse participant representation in future research.
