Safety and Effectiveness of VYC-15L, a Hyaluronic Acid Filler for Lip and Perioral Enhancement: One-Year Results From a Randomized, Controlled Study

The study assessed VYC-15L (Juvederm Volbella XC), a hyaluronic acid filler, in 225 adults for lip and perioral enhancement over 1 year, comparing it to NASHA (Restylane-L). At 3 months, 80.3% of VYC-15L recipients showed improved lip fullness, and the improvement persisted at 1 year for 61.8% of participants. Perioral line severity was reduced in 65.4% of subjects at 3 months and 66.2% at 1 year. Satisfaction with lips and lip lines was high, with 96.1% and 88.2% reporting improvements at 3 months, respectively. VYC-15L caused fewer severe injection site responses than NASHA. The study concluded that VYC-15L is a safe and effective treatment for enhancing lips and perioral area, with lasting effects up to a year.
