Stem Cell-Enriched Treatments in Aesthetic Medicine: A Comprehensive Scientific Literature Review of Current Applications, Mechanisms, Outcomes, and Future Perspectives
June 2025

TLDR Stem cell treatments show promise for improving skin and hair, but need more research and standardization.
The review discusses the use of stem cell-enriched treatments in aesthetic medicine, particularly for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, scar revision, and fat grafting. These treatments, including ADSCs, SVF, MSCs, CM, exosomes, and PRP, show promise in enhancing skin and hair conditions by promoting angiogenesis and tissue regeneration. PRP has been notably effective in increasing hair count and density in male pattern hair loss. While these therapies are generally safe with minor side effects, challenges such as standardization, long-term data, and regulatory issues need to be addressed. The review calls for standardized protocols and long-term studies to ensure these therapies can be safely and effectively integrated into clinical practice. Advances in cell-free therapies are anticipated to enhance accessibility and efficacy.
