TLDR Sodium pentaborate pentahydrate can increase hair growth and improve hair quality at certain doses.
The study evaluated the effects of sodium pentaborate pentahydrate (NaB) on hair growth in 35 Sprague-Dawley/Wistar albino rats. The rats were divided into five groups, with varying doses of NaB. The study found that NaB 1 mg and 2 mg B/kg supplementation induced the anagen (growth) phase in rats via Wnt-1, β-catenin, VEGF, PDGF, and TGF-β1 signaling pathways, which are important molecular mechanisms involved in hair growth. However, NaB 4 mg B/kg suppressed these pathways and adversely affected hair growth. Hair density increased by 90.9% in the NaB 4 mg group, and follicle diameter increased in all NaB groups. The study concludes that boron, the element in NaB, can promote hair growth at appropriate doses but may negatively affect hair growth in high doses.

community Better Than Minoxidil? Topical Sodium Valproate

      in Research/Science  53 upvotes 3 months ago
Topical sodium valproate may promote hair growth by inhibiting GSK3β, allowing beta-catenin to proliferate, but it has potential side effects and requires more research. The conversation also mentions skepticism about a product called Vdphlo1, which includes sodium valproate and other ingredients.

community Is it normal that fin tingles in the mouth?

in Finasteride  59 upvotes 2 weeks ago
A user experienced a tingling sensation in their mouth after taking a cut finasteride pill, possibly due to inactive ingredients like mannitol or sodium lauryl sulfate. Tingling is not a common side effect or typical allergy sign, but monitoring for unusual reactions is advised.
