TLDR Scientists made a sensor that can detect a specific type of RNA related to androgen receptors quickly and accurately.
The document reports the creation of a smart deoxyribozyme-based fluorescent sensor (SDFS) for detecting androgen receptor mRNA in vitro. The sensor, which integrates two deoxyribozymes, a split malachite green aptamer, and an oligonucleotide platform, was able to specifically recognize a synthetic 60-nucleotide RNA fragment and full-sized mRNA of the androgen receptor within 24 hours. The limit of detection was found to be 1.4 nM at 37 °C. The SDFS showed high efficiency and selectivity for the RNA target and could be adapted for various nucleic acid sequences. It also successfully detected full-length AR mRNA in total RNA extracted from human dermal papilla cells. The sensor's modular design and cost-effective use of malachite green dye indicate its potential as a useful tool for differential diagnosis and detecting AR mRNA in biological materials.
