The review highlights the interconnectedness of the skin's microbiome and various barriers, noting that dysfunction can lead to skin diseases. Adipocytes are suggested as potential therapeutic agents for inflammatory skin diseases like atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, though their dual nature requires careful management to maximize benefits and minimize pro-inflammatory effects.
