TLDR People with vitiligo tend to have lower vitamin D levels.
This study evaluated serum vitamin D levels in 75 patients with vitiligo compared to 75 healthy controls. Results showed that patients with vitiligo had significantly lower serum vitamin D levels, with 22.7% having deficient levels and 33.3% having insufficient levels, compared to 13.3% deficient and 13.3% insufficient in the control group. The difference in vitamin D levels between the two groups was statistically significant (p=0.001), indicating that low serum vitamin D levels are associated with vitiligo.
