TLDR The herbal combination of saw palmetto and stinging nettle reduces nighttime urination in men with urinary issues.
The study re-evaluated four clinical trials involving 922 men with an average age of 66 years, examining the effects of the herbal combination PRO 160/120, made from saw palmetto and stinging nettle extracts, on nocturnal voiding frequency in men with LUTS suggestive of BPH. The results indicated that PRO 160/120 significantly reduced nocturnal voiding frequency by 0.8 times per night, a 29% improvement, compared to an 18% improvement with placebo. The responder rate for PRO 160/120 was 69%, notably higher than the 52% for placebo, and the improvements were similar to those achieved with tamsulosin and finasteride.
