The study developed a novel self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) to enhance the bioavailability of quercetin (QU), a flavonoid with health benefits but limited clinical use due to low bioavailability. The SNEDDS formulation, which included D-α-Tocopherol polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate, improved QU bioavailability by 149.8% compared to its suspension. The study used a new RP-HPLC method to determine QU and TPGS in rat plasma, showing high sensitivity. Key pharmacokinetic improvements included a higher Cmax, reduced Tmax, and increased AUCt. The study involved 7 rats and demonstrated that the SNEDDS formulation significantly improved QU delivery and efficacy.
