TLDR RHA fillers are effective and safe for treating nasolabial folds in people of color.
The study assessed the safety and effectiveness of resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA) fillers for treating moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds in people of color (POC) compared to non-POC, using data from 217 participants in two clinical trials. Results indicated that POC experienced greater improvement in wrinkle severity and higher responder rates, with statistical significance at several time points. Both POC and non-POC reported high satisfaction and similar Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale scores. Adverse event rates were lower for individuals with higher Fitzpatrick skin types, and no keloidal scarring was reported. The RHA fillers were found to be well-tolerated and effective for POC, supporting their use in this demographic.
