TLDR Banana plants have many health benefits, but more research is needed to confirm them.
Musa paradisiaca Linn., or the banana plant, is recognized for its extensive pharmacological activities, including antidiabetic, antioxidant, antidiarrhoeal, antidepressant, antiulcer, antimicrobial, antilipidemic, antihypertensive, wound healing, antiatherosclerotic, hair growth-promoting, and antimutagenic effects. The plant's therapeutic properties are attributed to its phytochemical constituents like serotonin, dopamine, and flavonoids. Despite its traditional use and promising pre-clinical results, further scientific and clinical research is necessary to confirm these benefits and develop effective treatments.
