    The banana plant (Musa sapientum, Musa paradisiaca) was noted for its significant pharmacological activities, including antiulcerogenic, antilithiatic, antimicrobial, analgesic, antihypertensive, antidiarrhoeal, antiallergic, antioxidant, diuretic, hypolipidemic, hypoglycaemic, hair growth promoting, haemostatic, muscle relaxant, mutagenic, wound healing, and vasodilatory effects. The plant, primarily cultivated for its fruit, was a valuable source of vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium. The review highlighted the importance of herbal medicines, which a vast majority of the population relied on.
