TLDR Combining Ayurvedic and modern treatments can effectively manage hair loss.
The review explores the Ayurvedic concept of Khalitya, which is akin to Alopecia in modern dermatology, focusing on its pathogenesis and management. Khalitya is primarily caused by the vitiation of Pitta and Vata Doshas, leading to hair follicle weakening and hair loss. The study correlates Ayurvedic principles with modern understandings of Alopecia, which include autoimmune responses, genetic factors, and hormonal imbalances. It suggests an integrative treatment approach combining Ayurvedic therapies like Shodhana and Rasayana with modern treatments such as minoxidil and PRP therapy, aiming for personalized, long-term hair loss management solutions.
