TLDR Solanum nigrum extract may help regrow hair.
This study investigated the potential of Solanum nigrum (S. nigrum) extracts to stimulate hair growth in Swiss albino rats with testosterone-induced hair loss. Two extracts, methanol and petroleum ether, were applied topically, with finasteride as a standard comparison. The petroleum ether extract showed significant hair regrowth, indicated by increased follicle density, anagen/telogen (A/T) ratio, and positive skin section histology. These findings suggest that the petroleum ether extract of S. nigrum may be effective in treating testosterone-induced hair loss.
