TLDR Recombinant goat VEGF164 speeds up hair growth in mice.
The study demonstrated that recombinant goat VEGF164 (rgVEGF164) increased hair growth in mice. Researchers cloned VEGF164 cDNA from Inner Mongolia cashmere goats into a prokaryotic expression vector and expressed it in E. coli BL21 cells. The rgVEGF164 protein was purified and identified using western blot analysis. When applied to the dorsal area of shaved mice, rgVEGF164 resulted in faster hair regrowth compared to the control group, indicating its potential to enhance hair growth.
