The study constructed a skin cDNA library from Liaoning cashmere goats during follicle anagen using SMART technology, obtaining 1986 ESTs that were assembled into 1126 unisequences. The recombination rate of the cDNA library was over 89%, and the contig ratio was 21.6%. Classification revealed that 1.2% of ESTs were related to hair fiber, providing a valuable platform for future functional genomics research on Liaoning cashmere goats.
