TLDR GFC is more effective than PRP for treating hair loss.
The study compared the efficacy of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Concentrated Growth Factor (GFC) in treating androgenetic alopecia in 50 patients. Both treatments significantly improved hair density and thickness, but GFC showed superior results. The mean increase in hair density was 28.6 hairs/cm² for GFC compared to 19.2 hairs/cm² for PRP, and the mean increase in hair shaft thickness was 12.5 μm for GFC versus 8.3 μm for PRP, both statistically significant. Additionally, 88% of GFC patients reported satisfaction compared to 60% in the PRP group. The study highlights the potential of GFC as a more effective treatment for hair loss, though further research is needed to confirm these findings. Both treatments were well-tolerated, with minor and transient adverse effects. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and short follow-up period, the study suggests GFC as a promising advancement in hair loss treatment.
