TLDR Keratogrow®, a spray made from patients' own blood, was found to increase hair growth and density when used twice daily for three months.
The study conducted by Rani James et al., published in 2016, investigated the safety and clinical efficacy of Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma Concentrated Spray (Keratogrow®) for hair loss treatment. The spray, prepared from a small volume of the patients' own blood, was applied to their scalps at least twice daily for three months. The effectiveness of the treatment was measured by changes in hair regrowth after three months, determined by physical exam and digital photography. The results showed clinical improvement in the mean number of hairs, with a mean increase of hairs in the target area, and a mean increase in total hair density compared with baseline values.
