TLDR Homogenous PRP gel heals goat skin wounds best, promoting quick recovery and hair growth.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of platelet rich plasma (PRP) gel in healing skin wounds in Black Bengal goats. It involved 72 surgical wounds on 12 goats, divided into four treatment groups: homogenous PRP gel, heterogenous PRP gel, sulphonilamide powder, and tincture benzoin (control). The homogenous PRP gel group showed the best results, with no inflammation, dry sutured areas, and complete healing with significant hair follicle growth within 15-21 days. Histopathological analysis confirmed normal epithelial tissue and organized collagen fibers, indicating effective wound healing. The study suggested that homogenous PRP gel could be a promising natural biomaterial for skin wound healing, though further molecular research and commercial development are needed.
