TLDR Natural extracts like ginseng, green tea, shiitake, and aloe vera may help prevent hair loss by protecting hair-related cells.
The study evaluated the skin-protective effects of polysaccharide extracts from ginseng, green tea, shiitake, and aloe vera, with a focus on preventing hair loss. These extracts were tested for total sugar content and antioxidant activity. The extracts were found to promote cell proliferation and suppress apoptosis in human follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPC) and keratinocyte (HaCaT) cells. The conclusion suggests that these polysaccharides have a protective effect on cells related to hair health and could be promising ingredients in pharmaceuticals or cosmetics aimed at preventing hair loss.
