TLDR DA-5512 effectively improves hair growth and health, performing better than minoxidil.
The 2017 study evaluated the proprietary herbal extract DA-5512 for its potential to stimulate hair growth and improve hair health. In vitro tests showed that DA-5512 increased the viability and proliferation of human dermal papilla cells. In vivo experiments on mice demonstrated that DA-5512 at 1% and 5% concentrations promoted hair growth and increased the number and length of hair follicles, with effects comparable to 3% minoxidil. A clinical trial involving 23 participants with mild alopecia compared 5% DA-5512, 3% minoxidil, and a placebo over 16 weeks. The results indicated that 5% DA-5512 significantly improved hair density, hair-shaft diameter, and hair-growth rate, outperforming 3% minoxidil, with no reported adverse effects. The study concluded that DA-5512 is an effective treatment for hair loss, although the mechanisms of action require further investigation.
