TLDR Combining PRP with lipofilling shows promise for tissue regeneration but needs more clinical trials to confirm benefits.
The chapter discusses the potential benefits and limitations of combining platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with lipofilling for tissue regeneration. Adipose tissue's regenerative capacity is attributed to the stromal vascular fraction (SVF), particularly adipose-derived stromal cells (ASCs), which aid in healing through angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and immunomodulation. PRP enhances these effects by providing growth factors like VEGF and PDGF, potentially improving outcomes in skin rejuvenation, wound healing, dermal fibrosis, and androgenetic alopecia. However, despite promising case series, well-designed prospective clinical trials are still needed to confirm these benefits.
