TLDR Hair transplantation effectively treats scalp scars with high success and patient satisfaction.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of follicular unit hair transplantation in treating stable cicatricial alopecia caused by postsurgical scarring in 15 patients. A single session of hair transplantation was performed with a density of 35 units/cm². After 12 months, the graft survival rate was found to be 80.67%, with patient satisfaction significantly improved, as indicated by the decrease in POSAS scores from a preoperative mean of 24.47 to a postoperative mean of 11.60. The study concluded that follicular unit hair transplantation is an effective treatment for scalp scar tissue, providing high graft survival rates and satisfactory outcomes for patients.
