TLDR Using platelet rich fibrin speeds up wound healing after revascularization.
This pilot study investigated the effect of platelet rich fibrin (PRF) on wound healing time after revascularization in patients with peripheral arterial disease. Patients treated with PRF in combination with dressings experienced a significantly faster average wound healing time of 5 weeks compared to 8.5 weeks for those treated with dressings alone. Additionally, some patients in the dressing-only group required extended amputation. The study concludes that PRF can be safely used to enhance wound healing in vascular pathology.
