Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) for Androgenetic Alopecia
April 2014
in “Facial Plastic Surgery”
TLDR PRFM may help treat hair loss, especially in mild cases.
The study investigated the use of Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) for treating androgenetic alopecia. The study involved 19 patients, and the results showed that patients with more modest degrees of hair loss were more likely to notice improvement. The study found that the value at the 2- and 3-month follow-up visits were statistically higher than pretreatment. The study concluded that PRFM may be a valuable tool in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, but more patients are required to verify if the trend is statistically significant.
