TLDR PLGA nanospheres improve hair growth by effectively delivering ingredients to hair follicles.
The study investigated the use of PLGA nanospheres as drug delivery systems for hair growth ingredients. Encapsulating these ingredients in PLGA nanospheres enhanced their permeability to hair follicles by 2.0 to 2.5 times compared to non-encapsulated controls, as shown in in-vitro tests using human scalp biopsies. In-vivo tests on C3H mice demonstrated that these nanospheres effectively transitioned hair from the resting phase to the growing phase, significantly improving hair growth. The findings suggested that PLGA nanospheres could serve as effective carriers for delivering hair growth treatments to hair follicles.
