The study investigated the antifungal effects of a combination of 96% ethyl acetate extract of Pandan Wangi leaves and 96% ethanol extract of Noni fruit against fungi isolated from dandruff. The research found that the combination inhibited 82.4% of fungal isolates, with inhibition zones ranging from 15-35 mm. The fungi included Aspergillus sp, Paecylomyces varotii, and Candida sp (non-albicans), along with one yeast isolate. Active compounds identified were phenols and flavonoids in both extracts, and alkaloids in Noni fruit extract. The study concluded that this combination could potentially be used in anti-dandruff shampoos.
