TLDR Oral contraceptives with desogestrel and drospirenone improve PCOS symptoms.
The study investigated the effects of oral contraceptives containing desogestrel and drospirenone on patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It was a randomized clinical trial that included a significant number of participants, enhancing the reliability of the findings. The results indicated that both types of oral contraceptives improved clinical symptoms, hormonal imbalances, and metabolic parameters in PCOS patients. Specifically, there were improvements in menstrual regularity, reductions in androgen levels, and favorable changes in lipid profiles. These findings suggested that oral contraceptives containing desogestrel and drospirenone could be effective treatment options for managing PCOS symptoms.
